Document an Ecosystem

Now that you have practiced all of your individual skills, you’re going to use them all together.

It’s time to document an entire ecosystem!

You should have had plenty of practice with your materials and will now have an idea of what media you like to use. Maybe you can do this project in a single medium or maybe you’ll use mixed media.

Pick a spot – forest, lake, pond, or anywhere else you like – and spend some time there. Document using all of your senses. Observe the interactions between organisms. Listen for the sounds of things you can’t quite see. Write and draw until you feel you’ve capture the essence of your ecosystem.

Your Tasks for this Unit:

• Choose a spot in nature where you can spend a good block of time
  
• Document the ecosystem you’ve chosen using all of the skills you’ve practiced
