Create a Kit
Now that you have an idea of what a nature journal is and what you might like to document, it’s time to start putting together a kit!
Here‘s one list of nature journal supplies from Raising Little Shoots.
Our suggested list is:
- A sturdy sketchbook
- Pencils
- Coloured pencils
- Portable watercolours
- Fillable watercolour brushes
- Pastels
- Charcoal
- Crayons
- Tape
- Handheld microscope
- Local field guide
Once you’ve made a list that make sense for you, you can start gathering supplies and put everything together in a carry bag.
As you get ready to go out in the field, don’t forget water, sunscreen, and a small first aid kit!
