Everybody is familiar with scary stories – maybe you’ve told them around the campfire or read them at a sleepover.


Have you every tried writing a scary story of your own? Now is the time!

First, you should read some spooky stories.

WARNING: Make sure to check with your parents first!

Once you’ve got a feel for how scary stories are structured and the variety of options out there, you can start to plan your own!

First, you’ll want to make a plan. You can use Story Planner and find lots of awesome story planning templates.

Once you’ve got your plan in place, write a first draft, have at least one person read over your work and give feedback, and then write a final draft!
