Find Your First Cache

To start, you may want to have a parent sign up for an account at Geocaching.com. It’s definitely possible to track caches without an account, but with one you can log your finds and more. Talk to your parents about what works best for you!

If you decide that signing up for an account makes sense, get your parents to help you do that here. You can come up with your username or family geocaching team name!

Once you’ve decided how you’ll go about looking for your first cache, make use of your kit and safely list and get out there!

There are several sizes of cache, which you can read more about here. Whichever one you choose to hunt for, make sure you have something appropriate in your kit to leave as a trade.

Make sure to start with a basic cache (not a special cache) and look for one with an easy rating!

Your Tasks for this Unit:
